Duccio Piovani is a theoretical physicist with a PhD in Applied Mathematics who has always been interested in using maths to study and understand the properties of systems. He studied thought equations and code in many different types of systems spacing, from the collective movement of birds, to cities and plants growing in vertical farms. Today he works at the World Food Programme as Lead Data Scientist, using predictive algorithms to model and predict food security in real time at a global scale.
