Office of the Information Commission
The Office of the Information Commissioner is Queensland’s independent statutory body that encourages and supports Queensland government agencies to proactively release information and data to contribute to better social outcomes.
We have assistance and oversight functions under the Right to Information Act 2009 and the Information Privacy Act 2009 to support open, transparent and accountable government and safeguard personal information.
Our independence from government allows the community to have confidence that the role of the Information Commissioner is carried out independently, fairly, and impartially.
