Horizon Digital Economy Research Institute comprises both a research Hub and Doctoral Training Centre.

Funded by the Research Councils UK, Horizon is centred at the University of Nottingham with over 200 academic and industrial partners.

Horizon research focuses on ubiquitous computing technology and the ‘lifelong contextual footprint’ of personal data, addressing the challenges of how to promote deep personalisation and build privacy and trust into the next generation of digital experiences to ensure public acceptance and continue economic and social benefit of upcoming technology innovations.
